Setting up an account to process credit cards

Help for Charities has partnered with IATS, a Ticketmaster Company, so that you are able to process all of your credit card transactions simply and efficiently. There are no setup fees associated with this service and no need to purchase or manage a payment gateway or merchant account as IATS provides everything you need to process all major credit cards.

Begin the application process
The application process takes about 10-15 minutes to complete over the phone. We'll need the following:
  • Federal Registration number (Also referred to as an EIN or Tax ID number), found on your 501c3 ruling letter from the IRS.
  • Correct account and routing numbers for deposits into the account you wish to receive your funds in.
Complete your application package
We'll fax or e-mail the completed documents to you for verification and a signature. Compile the supporting documentation, and Fax your complete application package to 310-734-0794. If you have not received confirmation of receipt of your fax within 24 hours, please call us.
A complete application package includes the following items:
  • Signed Merchant Application
  • Signed IATS US Merchant Agreement (all nine pages)
  • Signed Schedule A
  • Copy of a pre-printed Void Check OR signed letter from your Bank with correct deposit account information (Deposit Slips will not be accepted)
  • Copy of 501c3 ruling letter from the IRS to confirm tax-exempt status
  • 3 months of previous processing statements OR 2 months of recent bank statements
*** Please Note. IATS must also obtain the following to complete your application package in order to submit it for approval:
  • Annual Financial Statements or 990s → If 990s are not available on www.GuideStar.org you will be required to provide 2 years of annual Financial Statements.
  • Third Party Address Verification → If IATS is not able to verify your organization's address using the available online directories, you may be required to provide documentation to verify your address (i.e. Electricity or Telephone Bills).
Setting up your IATS Account
Once received, your completed application package will be submitted for approval and will generally take 7-10 business days. Upon approval, you will receive a fax notification with your IATS Client Code and Password. The fax will also contain instructions on how to set-up processing through your donor database or online service.

***Please note this is an application, and that you may be required to provide additional information throughout the process. IATS will be sure to contact you in the event that further information is required.
